This is just a transfer from the old blog. Thought I’d transfer a few more recipes since I posted the Lemon Meringue Pie.
Creamcheese Caramel Apple Pie
Ingredients
- 2 deep dish crusts
- 4-5 granny smith apples cut into chunks
- 1/4 c brown sugar
- 1/4 c white sugar
- 1/4 c flour
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp cloves
- 1/4 tsp allspice
Instructions
- 1 small container of caramel dip (the kind used for apples) or homemade caramel
- 1 block of cream cheese
- splash of whip cream
- 1 package of crushed walnuts
- Mix dry ingredients together then toss with apples. In separate bowl, whip cream cheese until fluffy, add splash of whip cream then whip until fluffy again.
- Fold in apples and walnut pieces.
- Drizzle layer of caramel in bottom of deep dish crush. Place in HALF of apple mixture. Drizzle with more caramel. Put in other half of apples, drizzle with more caramel.
- Eggwash edges, place on other deep dish crust. Vent. Brush with egg wash, sprinkle with brown sugar.
- Bake at 375°F for 50 min - 1 hr until crust is brown. Drizzle with more caramel and serve!

Werther's Caramel Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 c white sugar
- 1/3 c water
- 1/2 c butter
- 2/3 c whipping cream
Instructions
- Combine sugar and water and simmer until the sugar is melted
- Add the butter and boil, whisking occassionally until the mixture turns golden. (This may take up to 15 minutes!)
- Remove from heat and slowly add the cream. It will bubble and froth like crazy, so have the whisk ready and whisk like mad until it calms a bit.
- Return to heat, whisking frequently, until the mixture turns golden, smooth, and creamy looking. This will take another 10 to 15 minutes!
