Fresh-Squeezed Lemonade

Lemonade is a great way to use up lemon juice if you have copious amounts of it. Recipes like lemon bars or even lemon meringue pie don’t use that much when you have 2 cups of it! I had a sack of lemons that needed juicing before they went bad and refreshing lemonade was the way to go.

The key to an excellent lemonade is to use fresh-squeezed lemon juice, not bottled!

Fresh-Squeezed Lemonade

Ingredients

  • 5 cups cold water
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup resh-squeezed lemon juice

Instructions

  • Combine a 1/2 cup of the water and the sugar and make a simple syrup in a small sauce pot.
  • Combine the lemon juice, the rest of the cold water, and ice cubes to a large pitcher.
  • Add the simple syrup and stir to mix.
