When I call this Werther’s Caramel Sauce I’m not exaggerating. This really tastes like a creamy smooth Werther’s caramel! Very easy to make and great drizzled on anything, even into coffee!

Werther's Caramel Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 c white sugar
- 1/3 c water
- 1/2 c butter
- 2/3 c whipping cream
Instructions
- Combine sugar and water and simmer until the sugar is melted
- Add the butter and boil, whisking occassionally until the mixture turns golden. (This may take up to 15 minutes!)
- Remove from heat and slowly add the cream. It will bubble and froth like crazy, so have the whisk ready and whisk like mad until it calms a bit.
- Return to heat, whisking frequently, until the mixture turns golden, smooth, and creamy looking. This will take another 10 to 15 minutes!
